Residencies
L’apartamento Napoli
In 2022, Asha was selected for a residency at L’apartamento Napoli in Naples, Italy. During her time there, she engaged with the local community and fellow visiting artists, conducted independent research, revisited and developed earlier sketches, and produced one of the first works of her emerging artistic practice.
The residency proved to be a highly productive and rewarding experience, and in recognition of her work and engagement with the program, Asha was invited to return for a second residency the following year
Olepangi farm
In 2023, Asha was invited to a residency at Olepangi Farm in Nanyuki, Kenya, where she immersed herself in a vibrant community of artists, creatives, and local residents whose generosity and spirit left a lasting impression.
The residency became one of the most profound experiences of her artistic career. Alongside developing a new body of drawing work, Asha collaborated with fellow artists and farm staff, engaged with the surrounding landscape and wildlife, and formed meaningful connections with the local community. She also visited a local children’s home, contributing through musical collaboration and food donations.
The experience expanded her artistic practice while deepening her appreciation for cultural exchange, community, and the transformative potential of creative collaboration.
Sound of silence
In 2026, Asha was selected for a residency at Sound of Silence in Elvas, Portugal, founded and hosted by Shermin Voshmgir, a prominent entrepreneur and blockchain pioneer who has also cultivated a deep commitment to artistic practice.
As one of the residency’s early invited artists, Asha was given the opportunity to work within this unique environment of artistic and intellectual exchange.
During her residency, she completed one of her most recent and significant works to date, while engaging with a community that encouraged both creative exploration and interdisciplinary dialogue.
